BELGIUM Mini Tennis
KidsTennis, presented by Line Declercq (VTV, Belgium)
Belgium’s VTV runs KidsTennis, a programme for children aged 3 to 12 years old. As players get older they progress through 5 stages:

WHITE
At the white stage, players do general coordination activities some basic racket activities and others without a racket. There is no official court size for this stage as players do not play matches.

The Blue court is shorter and narrower than a Red court. The blue stage sees players aged 5-7 playing with 8cm foam balls.
RED
The Red court is 12m long and approximately 5-6m wide. The red stage is for players aged 7-9 who play with either a foam or red, felt ball.
ORANGE
The red court is 18m long and narrower than a full width singles court. The orange stages sees players aged 9-10 playing with a slower, orange felt ball.
GREEN
In Green, players aged 10-12 play on a full court with a green, felt ball which is slightly slower than a normal, yellow ball.
COMPETITION
In Belgium, all KidsTennis competition is mandated so that every player age 9 and under must play with a slower green, orange or red ball. No player age 8 or under can play competition on the full court.
At age 10 most starter and developmental players will player with a green or orange ball and only the very talented play with a full, yellow ball on the full-sized court.
