PLAY AND STAY IN EGYPT

Since Play and Stay was launched by the ITF in 2007, one of the nations to take greatest advantage of the campaign has been Egypt.

The Egyptian Tennis Federation (ETF) have been proactive in implementing a ‘Red, Orange and Green’ programme and put a strong emphasis on coach education. The Play and Stay Coordinator for ETF, Hassan El Aroussy, has organised a series of coach education workshops and seminars, some with ITF assistance.

The ETF have now started running competition using the different coloured balls and plan to develop more competition for young players over the next few years.

The images below are from a recent Red and Orange event held in Cairo. Many of the players were new to the balls and smaller court sizes but the parents, and players, could see the benefit by the end of the event.
