MLC Tennis Hot Shots – Australia

In March 2011 Tennis Australia announced a massive participation drive to be headlined by MLC Tennis Hot Shots (MLCTHS). Since launching in 2008, this revolutionary development program for children aged 10 and under has already provided the opportunity for hundreds of thousands of children throughout Australia to play tennis.
The program offers three progressive stages as follows:
* Red stage - approximate age 5 to 8 years
* Orange stage - approximate age 8 to10 years
* Green stage - approximate age 9 years plus
MLC Tennis Hot Shots offers an enjoyable and realistic playing experience for children. The child-scaled equipment, including smaller courts, racquets and low-compression balls, makes it possible to develop skills faster, resulting in a more tactically and technically proficient player at a young age. And it’s fun. Kids have the chance to learn at their own pace and play with their friends. It is now possible to match red, orange and green balls to a player’s size and developing skill level, helping them to play sooner.
The program is based on a fundamental understanding of children using a “learning-through-play” philosophy. Children develop their skills in an environment that matches them both physically, socially and mentally. The result is not just more children who are able to play and compete, but the opportunity to develop a better standard of players.
MLC Tennis Hot Shots is not just about the future growth of our sport, it is the foundation for the next generation of professional players.
